Frequently Asked Questions

HOW DID YOU BECOME A PHOTOGRAPHER?

I was gifted my first camera at the age of 10, a Pentax 35mm film camera. From that moment on, my friends, family, and pets became my unwilling subjects. They didn’t have much say in the matter, but thankfully they were patient enough to indulge my growing obsession with photography.

After leaving school, I studied Graphic Design, where photography was one of my subjects. It was photography the old-school way, before instant previews and endless memory cards. We spent hours in the darkroom developing film and watching images appear as if by magic. We even built and used our own pinhole cameras, learning the fundamentals of light, composition, and patience.

Following my studies, I pursued a career in Graphic Design while continuing to nurture my love of photography through product photography. Over the years, the camera never strayed too far from my side.

In 2016, I completed a refresher course through the Photography Institute. That experience reignited my passion and gave me the confidence to make the leap into wedding and lifestyle photography—a decision I’ve never regretted.

Today, I have the privilege of documenting some of life’s most meaningful moments, from weddings and growing families to everyday connections and celebrations. And unlike my childhood subjects, my clients actually choose to be photographed!

WHERE ARE YOU BASED?

These days, I’m based in East Cork, just a stone’s throw from the beach. Home is a country house I share with my husband, our two children, and an ever-changing cast of local wildlife. We’re surrounded by sheep, donkeys, hedgerows, and the kind of countryside views that make you stop and appreciate the simple things.

As much as I love meeting people and hearing their stories, I equally cherish the peace and quiet that comes with country living. There’s something special about waking up to birdsong, breathing in the fresh salty air, and knowing the nearest traffic jam is usually caused by a flock of sheep taking their time crossing the road.

When I’m not behind the camera, my favourite place to be is with my family. Whether we’re exploring local beaches, enjoying the outdoors, or simply making the most of everyday moments together. You’ll also often find me wandering along the shoreline collecting sea glass, one of my favourite pastimes. There’s something magical about finding these tiny treasures that have been shaped and smoothed by the sea, each with their own little story to tell. Much like photography, it’s all about noticing the beauty in the small moments and details that others might pass by.

WHAT MAKES YOU DIFFERENT?

What makes me different as a photographer is the blend of creativity, technical skill, and genuine connection that I bring to every session. While beautiful photographs are important, I'm most interested in capturing the feeling behind the moment, the laughter, the anticipation, the quiet glances, and the little details that help tell your story.

My style is shaped by years of experience, an artistic eye, and a love for finding beauty in places and moments that others might overlook. Rather than chasing the latest trends, I focus on creating timeless, authentic images that reflect who you are and what matters most to you.

Every photograph is a deliberate combination of light, composition, emotion, and storytelling. Whether I'm photographing a wedding, a family, or a simple everyday moment, my goal is always the same: to create images that feel natural, meaningful, and uniquely yours.

I believe the most powerful photographs aren't just seen, they're felt. Years from now, I want you to look back at your images and remember not only how everything looked, but exactly how it felt to be there.

WHAT’S YOUR STYLE?

My approach to wedding photography is simple: use what’s already there and let the day unfold naturally. I believe the most meaningful photographs come from real moments, not heavily directed ones. Rather than constantly posing and orchestrating every scene, I take a relaxed, unobtrusive approach that allows you to be fully present and enjoy your day.

Your wedding is so much more than a collection of perfectly posed photographs. It’s the nervous excitement before the ceremony, the proud tears in a parent's eyes, the laughter shared between lifelong friends, the spontaneous dance moves, the quiet glances, the heartfelt embraces, and all the little moments in between that often become the most treasured memories.

My goal is to capture the genuine atmosphere and emotion of your day as it naturally unfolds. I look for authentic connections, real reactions, and the details that tell your unique story. By blending documentary style storytelling with an artistic eye for light, composition, and emotion, I create images that feel honest, timeless, and full of life.

Years from now, I want your photographs to transport you back to exactly how it felt, to the joy, excitement, love, and celebration shared with the people who matter most.

WHAT TO EXPECT ONCE WE'VE BOOKED YOU?

When you book with me, your date is secured and my commitment is entirely to you. I never outsource my work unless absolutely unavoidable, and thankfully, I’ve never had to. From the moment you book, you can be confident that I’ll be the one photographing your wedding day and personally crafting your final gallery.

Choosing a wedding photographer is about more than beautiful images—it's about trust. You're inviting someone into one of the most important days of your life, and I take that responsibility seriously. I approach every wedding with care, attention, and dedication, always striving to give my very best.

In the months leading up to your wedding, I’ll give you space to enjoy the excitement of planning, while always being available if you have questions, need advice, or want to chat through ideas. Whether it's timelines, family photographs, locations, or logistics, I’m happy to help.

Around three weeks before your wedding, I’ll send you a short questionnaire to gather the important details of your day. We’ll use this information to finalise the timeline, key moments, family groupings, and overall flow of events. From there, I create a schedule to help everything run as smoothly and stress-free as possible.

On the day itself, I arrive ahead of schedule to settle in and begin capturing the details that make your wedding uniquely yours. From the dress hanging up and handwritten notes to the excitement, nerves, laughter, and everything in between, I’m there to document both the big moments and the small moments that tell the full story of your day.

HOW LONG BEFORE I GET MY PHOTOS?

The celebrations may be over, but the excitement doesn’t end there! Within a week of your wedding day, you’ll receive a gallery of sneak peeks, usually around 50 carefully selected images, to relive those first magical moments and share with family and friends while the memories are still fresh.

I know how eager couples are to see their photographs, so I always make it a priority to get these previews to you as quickly as possible.

Your full gallery is then individually edited and carefully curated by me. Rather than rushing the process, I take the time to ensure every image reflects the quality, emotion, and storytelling that your wedding deserves. Depending on the time of year and the volume of weddings I’m photographing, your final collection will be ready within approximately 8–12 weeks.

Once complete, your beautifully packaged gallery will arrive, filled with the moments, emotions, details, and memories that made your day uniquely yours—allowing you to revisit and share your wedding story for years to come.
